Inspired by 18th- and 19th-century fashions with a whimsical twist, this design was originally created for a Gothic Vampire Ball and draws inspiration from Satine from the Moulin Rouge, as well as 18th-century Rococo styles. It is crafted as an ultra-high-low skirt, so even with the ruching completely down, it still gives a lovely high-low look!
 
The Main Skirt:
It features four points of rouching, allowing the wearer to adjust the height as desired for endless fashion possibilities! When the ruching is pulled up, it creates a dramatic layered effect! Pair with a chamise and solid colored stays for a perfect 18th-century outfit with a modern twist! The front of the skirt features my signature V-point, which creates a flattering belt look, a design element featured in most of my skirt designs. The back of the skirt is fitted with a matching ribbon, allowing for the most comfortable experience possible, whether you wear it alone or under a bodice.

The Bustle:
This is the first design I've done in this style. Crafted of the same crimson taffeta, it features 12 points with hand-stitched crimson crystals. The underside is lined with black crinoline to ensure the desired "floof" stays in place. The bustle is fully adjustable for almost any size as it sits on a thick satin ribbon to be tied in the front and hidden either tucked under the main skirt or under the stays. 

The Stays:
Stays are designed after over a year of testing and mock-ups using historical texts from the 18th century. They feature 100% baleen boning (synthetic, of course... no whales were harmed!) with 100% hand-stitched bias tape. While this not only ensures a classic and authentic look, it is essential to keep in mind that there may be small imperfections here and there, as human hands are not machines.

The stays also feature a cascade of small crimson rhinestones, hand-set across the top portion of the bust to accent the crimson crystals on the bustle, giving the gown a truly glittering effect.

I work hard to ensure every part of the stays is perfect, but you will likely see some chalk marks on the lining where I marked for the boning channels, and hand stitches on the inside of the lining, not visible from the outside of the stays. This helps create a "seamless" look to the bias tape. 

The stays feature grommets on both the front and back, allowing for optimal adjustment and comfort for the wearer.

This is a Made-to-order item - Since I do not carry the fabric in stock, it can take a couple weeks for the fabric to arrive before I can start sewing your skirt. Please allow up to 4-8 weeks for dispatch, but I do my best to have it out much sooner!
