Inspired by 18th-century fashion with a whimsical twist, my stays are handcrafted using 18th-century historical pattern-making techniques, made with high-quality taffeta, lined with 100% cotton canvas, and featuring 100% cotton interfacing for the core to ensure comfort and breathability. All boning used is high-quality 100% synthetic baleen. 

When ordering, please provide your WAIST and BUST measurements & COLOR Choice! Every garment is made-to-order.

Please review the size chart carefully - these are not standard sizes!

The original pattern I made for these stays is based on my own custom size and sized up and down from there.

Thus, the sizes provided are based on a waist measurement of the stays at full closure. This means both front and back laces are completely laced closed. Many people will wear their stays with a 1-3 inch gap at the back, and some (like me) with another 1-4 inch gap at the top of the bust. The amount of waist reduction you want will factor into what size you will want to order. You may find you fit into multiple sizes.

For example, I have a natural waist of 28 inches and 34F bust. I wear a size 26 at full closure, or a 25 with 1-3 inch gap on the back and front.

When ordering, PLEASE ALSO SEND ME YOUR NATURAL WAIST AND BUST MEASUREMENT – This helps me ensure the best fit I can.

At this time, I currently make the following sizes:

Size 25: At full closure, fits a 25in. Waist; 33in Bust (pictured on model in black)

Size 26: At full closure, fits a 26in. Waist; 34in. Bust (pictured on model in red)

Additional Notes:

My stays are 14” long at the front center and 15.5 inches long at the back center. Traditional stays tend to be higher at the back, however, the pattern for these are based on a frame of 5’4”.

These are HANDMADE by me - I do not have a production factory; I'm not outsourcing any part of the production process. There will be small imperfections, just as with any other handmade or historical garment. There will be some pencil markings on the inside canvas of the stays where I marked the boning channels before stitching. The bottom of the binding I hand-stitch to reduce visible stitch lines on the outside of the stays, but the inside will have visible hand stitching.

I’m currently able to take custom size requests up to a traditional size US 10 – I hope to offer more size options in the future; however, I am limited to the size options of my sewing mannequin at this time.

All designs are shipped via USPS, using Priority Mail whenever possible.

This is a Made-to-order item - Since I do not carry the fabric in stock, it can take a couple of weeks for the fabric to arrive before I can start sewing your skirt. 

Please allow up to 4-8 weeks for dispatch, but I do my best to have it out much sooner!
